User Interest targeting

User Interest targeting is a new addition to our targeting options that enables advertisers to target users based on their browsing preferences. It allows your campaigns to reach users, already segmented by Adcash with their interests, who are more likely to convert and fulfill your goals.

How does it work?

Behind the scenes, the Adcash Big Data engine tracks and aggregates all users' preferences as they browse the web, ultimately producing a user interest profile with different topics/interests they are interested in.

As a result, the moment you start your User Interest targeted campaign, your offer/brand will be exposed only to the targeted audience that you have selected.

Difference between User Interest and Website vertical targeting

They share many similarities in terms of targeting and optimization options. For instance, both support the same creative types and have very similar creation processes.

The key difference is that rather than targeting websites based on their category (a.k.a. contextual targeting), you are targeting individual people based on their interests (a.k.a. behavioral targeting).

This difference offers the potential for your campaigns to be more relevant for your audience, ultimately making user engagement more likely.

Please note: It is not possible to select both targeting options as it may limit your campaign's reach; e.g., once you make your User Interests selection, all website verticals will be kept selected/targeted.

How to set up User Interest targeting

In campaign settings, on the "Targeting" step, find the User Interest section > select the target audience's interests for your offer.

By default, all interests have been selected:

For example, a campaign would be displayed to users interested in Games, Computers & Electronics, and Internet & Telecom if targeted as below:
